'I wanted to be a designer since the age of 15; I just never went about it in the traditional manner. Instead, through studying art, writing about design and architecture, working in film production and through renovating my own places, I developed my own design aesthetic – clean, minimal and, I hope, unpretentious.
My design influences are the architects Tadao Ando and John Pawson, artists Henry Moore and Anish Kapoor as well as the Japanese concept of wabi sabi.
My work over the past 17 years, since I launched kzdesigns, has included residential projects in Singapore, France and London, restaurants and a lounge bar in London and Bath, England, as well as offices and spas and a hotel in Sri Lanka.’
